24 competitors from Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong and New Zealand converged on the rugged mountains of Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Marking the return of global challenge events to the brand, Defender Trophy draws inspiration from a legacy of epic adventure with purpose — seeking a new generation of adventurers ready to embrace the impossible.
Over two intense days, competitors faced a series of vehicle-based, physical and teamwork challenges. Two finalists will represent Asia Pacific at the Global Final in Africa, hosted in partnership with long-standing conservation partner, Tusk, inspiring real and global change for conservation causes and leaving a positive impact wherever it touches.

The Asia Pacific Defender Trophy Qualification was designed to push competitors to their limits – testing physical stamina, intellectual agility and technical driving skill across a series of unrelenting challenges.
Teamwork
Defender Trophy is a reminder that no one conquers the impossible alone. Across every challenge, competitors leaned on one another, demonstrating that the strongest teams aren't built in comfort, but in pressure.
The Journey
Conquering steep inclines, powering through deep water crossings and navigating obstacle-laden tracks, the Defender 110 Trophy Edition demonstrated the unmatched capability that makes Defender the only choice for terrain like this.
THE CHALLENGES
From navigating obstacle-laden tracks and constructing rope bridges, to night driving and transporting heavy equipment across rugged landscapes — each challenge was deliberately designed to push competitors further than they thought possible. Not just physically, but mentally.
Adventure-centric
Driven by extremes, these individuals brought composure from the world’s most demanding environments. Lily Hillary drew on experience forged at altitude on Everest, while Putri Handayani proved her resilience in the harshest conditions on earth, becoming the first Indonesian to reach the South Pole via the Antarctic-8 Expedition. Charles Murray, a skier and mountain biker from New Zealand’s South Island, documents journeys through remote terrain across the Southern Alps, capturing extreme sports, natural landscapes and the communities that shape them.
Outdoor lovers
They move instinctively through the wilderness, reading terrain as it shifts. Febrian’s endurance spans both mountain and distance, from Everest Base Camp to the Boston Marathon, while Neil Bagasa approaches demanding terrain through self-discovery. Alongside them, Alif navigates rugged landscapes shaped by a deep connection to the outdoors.
Fitness Junkies
Conditioned for pressure, these competitors sustained performance as demands kept building. Ron Ng combines endurance as a HYROX ambassador with technical expertise as a GoPro global training manager, while Nhan Phuc Vinh has tested his limits across Ironman, ultra trail and open water endurance events. Tina Chan is a triathlete and HYROX competitor who has completed Ironman triathlons and continues to take on endurance
Off-the-beaten-Path Travellers
Defined by adaptability, they operate beyond the expected. Logan Dodds is an established producer with a background in international sports media, captivating audiences with breathtaking landscapes, where movement, terrain and endurance shape every story, while Daniel Li Ka Chun demonstrated exceptional endurance by cycling over 11,000km from Hong Kong to Croatia.

From a field of 24 exceptional individuals, Charles Murray from New Zealand and Ron Ng from Singapore emerged as Asia Pacific's finalists for the Defender Trophy Global Final in Africa, embodying everything Defender Trophy stands for.
